Saturday

ImageIt is Saturday.  At last.  This has been a crazy week.  I think I got a lot accomplished at school, but not at home.  I need to be cleaning house but instead I am writing.  Oh well…priorities I guess.

Lesson Plans…they come around so fast.  It seems I just finish and it is time to do them again.  They are going pretty well though.  Robin and I collaborate on them.  Two brains are definitely better than one.

We are in a battle.

The forces of God on one side and the forces of darkness on the other side.

Knowing that there is a battle going on helps to know why things are always at unrest. Knowing our role will assure a safe passage. We must recognize when it is Satan and resist him! We must stand firm in the tools that God gives us. For I am a new creature in Christ…and we are on the winning team.

Forgiveness

I started reading a new biographical book in which the theme is forgiveness.  Forgiveness is the act to stop feeling angry or resentful toward someone for something they did.

Anger—-when we are wronged, or even just think we have been wronged, it makes us angry.  Anytime you are angry it covers up everything else in its path.  You concentrate on the anger instead of WHY you are angry.  We don’t stop to find out why something happened or why someone did what they did.  Sometimes we just need to realize that even the other person did do wrong…it is a problem of theirs and not ours.  It doesn’t mean our life has to stop or even slow down, because of what they did.  We may not understand the whole story.  Even if we do…it is an act THEY did and we cannot change or be responsible for their actions…only ours!

Resentment–We separate ourselves from that person and do not want anything to do with them.  Yes, they may have done a wrong thing, but instead of bridging a huge gap with them, perhaps we need to find out what is going on…perhaps there is some way we can help them.  Maybe they did a wrong thing because of their hurt, or misunderstanding of THEIR life.

The character in my book did just that.  At first she was hurt, angry, and resentful of the wronged party.  But as she got to know more information, she found that she could forgive them.  The forgiveness was for her.  It enabled her to go on, instead of stopping her life.

Truth

We all search for truth.  Truth is in Jesus.  Truth is Jesus.  Jesus is Truth.  It has been said to not look at your “problem” as “finished” until truth comes.  That is…until you have heard from Jesus.  We love to work on our time table.  God (Jesus) has a different time table.  Trouble comes and we think God doesn’t hear us…on the contrary God is working…even in his silence and He is wanting you to wait, listen, and respond to HIS WORK.  He is never late!!!!!!!  It is us who tend to give up before Jesus comes to us…Don’t give up!  Wait until you hear from Jesus!

Saturday with Cindy and an introduction to FAITH

O my goodness…what a week.  Such expectations after such a week with a major icestorm of 2011.  We were out of school last week for 4 days.  I usually like to be at home…and I do…but after 4 days and not being able to get out…makes you WANT to get out.

Went to school on Monday and knew it was would be hard….for students would be hyper after being out for 4 days.  Tuesday was a little better until we found out more snow is coming…out again on Wednesday…so on Thursday we had to start all over.

But we made it through the week.  And now it is Saturday and I am enjoying being the house, knowing I can get out if I want.  There is a little snow left, but mostly on the grass.  Roads appear to be ok.  It is still a little cool this morning, but it is suppose to warm up this afternoon.

In January, I was challenged to pick a word to develop in my life.  I belabored over several and keep coming back to one word:  FAITH

Faith…it is hard to define for some people.  It is a substance that can be seen.  You either know if it is there or not there.  The older we get I think the harder it is to sustain FAITH…except by the assistance of God himself.

A child has no trouble with faith.  A child jumps off a bed or a porch and you say, “I’ll catch you,” and they have no problem in thinking, by faith, that you will catch them.  But it seems as we get older, the more WE want to control the situation, instead of having faith.

It is important who we have faith in…

Faith has to be in the things that are worthy of our faith….the things eternal and of God.  Faith in earthly things, people, or objects will let us down.  The other side of faith has to be from a PERFECT being…and that is God himself.

Cold

Tuesday, January 11

Wow today is the first month, the 11th day and the year 2011. It is a very full day. I needed to wake up early and at 4:58 a.m. I was awake. That doesn’t usually happen. We started a new bible study this morning. Women of the book of Acts. I think it will be very good. Very very cold outside. 17.

The First Snow

We had our first snow today.  It was cold, but very pretty.  I love to be on the inside looking out when it snows…to get toasty from the inside warmth and to read a good book, or watch a good movie…I am watching the original season 1 of Hawaii Five-O.  I love the older television series.  It brings back memories of my dad and us watching the series.

Hope

It has been said…why do you keep going?  What is out there that keeps you going.  There has to be something in your vision..something that will keep you on your path.  HOPE.

But what the source is made of makes a huge difference.  When you get there will it blow away or will it be all that you have looked forward to…

…make sure your HOPE is something worth your time.  Your hope should include something that is proven to be worth striving for.  Love, security, and friendship are just some of the qualities that are found in the “Hope”  My Hope is in God the Father.  He gives me love, security, friendship, and he is my SAVIOUR!

Hope…

hope means to expect…live like you expect  something.  I expect God to be there.

hope means optimism…I get excited just thinking about my Hope in God!!!!

hope means to finish with the intended outcome…when my life is over I will be spending it with my God whom I have committed my life.
