Remembering Mom, part 2

IMGOne of my favorites.   When mom and dad got married in 1949, they eloped.  They never really got to have a wedding or reception.  We wanted them to “have one” at their 35th anniversary.  We wanted them to recite their vows.  Dad agreed.  He would agree to almost anything we asked.  But Mom really didn’t want it.  She did agree to let us throw them a reception.  So we did.  A church, invitations, flowers, cake, punch, pictures, and very dress up clothes.  Some of their friends from the early days were even there.  It was a grand time.

The best part was this picture.  I love how Mom is looking at her girls.  Love you Mom!
